About Me

I'm ARCduke13, semi-pro rank-and-filer. Also, the fanfiction guy.
My favorite non-SU RM games are Romancing Walker, Alter A.I.L.A. (In all its forms), and Quintessence. I feel obligated to finish Wraith for reasons Neok never dreamed of, and I know more than I'd like to about Yukkuri Shiteitte Ne, which isn't really all that much.

Also, huge fan of Megurine Luka. Huge. But certainly not the biggest. Oh no. The world would be a much better place if I was her biggest fan.

D'oh, thanks for pointing that out. I'll add that to the million and one things I need to update when I shift gears to site updates.

I laughed at the last part of your About Me. It's pretty true, actually.

Did somebody ask for an opinion? 'Cause I got that in spades. Also, hey everyone I died and then got better.
I don't feel strongly about most games, so I've only got material for five.

#1: Persona 4. It was really just the perfect game for me, with an enjoyable battle system, a twistastic plot with overarching mysteries, a great soundtrack, and a cast of characters with which I felt a real sense of camaraderie.

#2: Persona 3 FES. I played it after Persona 4 so it probably didn't have the same effect as it did on a lot of other people, but it was still good despite its seemingly outmoded battles and interface. With the awesome exception of Junpei, the characters weren't as likeable and I had a pretty hard time taking Strega seriously. The Answer was good for what it was, even if it seemed like they were making the plot up as they went along.

#3: Baten Kaitos Origins. Slipped under the radar as the Gamecube was on its way out, but it was way awesome. It exchanged the six halfway-interesting characters of the original for a well-developed and lovable party of three, and brought a combat system that required a high degree of skill to master and which allowed for a surprising degree of experimentation.

#4: Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor. The music was pretty lame aside from the theme song, but it was probably the best Tactics RPG I ever played. You had to practically rebuild your team from scratch every level, and the ridiculously powerful bosses required a combination of strategy and improvisation that I haven't encountered anywhere else.

#5: The World Ends With You. In one sentence: It positively oozed with originality, but the bosses got unreasonable on week 3.
What our your favorite top ten Games Ever!
I will admit, I dared, if but for a second.

I suppose it's not really the best one I've heard, partly since it seems a little more subdued than most until near the end, by which point your average battle is over already. It doesn't really seem to go anywhere, for the most part, with the same melody being repeated most of the way through.

However, that is not to say that I find it repulsive; the same mellowness also makes it more agreeable, and I was never unhappy to hear it, as I was with, say, the overblown FF1 remix that you get in Legends of Illarion.

Therefore, I pronounce the theme: mediocre, but not necessarily bad.
The Battle Theme
Idea! Summons could be activated only if a character had a certain gem and a set of "summon" essences equipped; stronger summons would be split up into several essences.
For example: The, let's call it "Raven", summon can only be used if a character is using a ruby and has the "Raven pt.1" and "Raven pt.2" essences equipped to their essence 1 and essence 2 slots.
At the same time, there could be a limitation to the summoning of Raven, such as 1 time every x battles or perhaps just appearing as an additional rage attack.
I just realized somthing...
Nah, I had swine flu.

Oh, that place. Good times.
It's actually quite impossible at the moment; there was talk of adding a prize if you stay there long enough, but right now there's not much more to do than stumble about and get the music stuck in your head.

(This would probably make an interesting thing to apply some graph theory to, but I don't know if you can represent an edge that goes to two verrtices simultaneously.)
Puzzle Cave South of Anin Dungeon
Hey, same thing happened to me a while back. Went away after a few months, I think.

Huh, plushies. I guess I'd most like to see one of Clydan; something about his not being able to resist hugs (he'd be frowning, of course) makes me smile.
Sorry So Late!
