Hello, stopping by to ask a quick question. I have been asked by a friend of mine to compose for his RPG Maker game, however I don't know what software I should use to go about midi notation. I was hoping you could point me in the right direction. :)

These chapter themes I would keep to story telling elements, so basically they are still character themes. Here is my proposal however,

Andoru's Theme (Changes from chapter to chapter). His theme is reflective of his thoughts and emotions. If he trusts a character it should reflect in the theme. If he doesn't or loses his trust for a character it should also reflect.

His theme is his story, and it is basically "His Thoughts." (Sorry for re-iterations lol)
A full story is hard to tell in one song, and when we are talking about a progression in the game you wouldn't want to reveal anything too early or too late as a story teller. So Andoru will have multiple songs.

As far as how this works think of Moonlight Sonata's various segments for instance.

What do you think of chapter themes? And as events change in the game so do the themes. Like we can think of the music as a developing character, it changes with the world and changes with the characters and changes with the events.

Thanks guys! So far it's looking like Mp3 is a definite possibility. I can also create some small size mp3s as well but it definitely will increase the space of the game.

I agree with both of you emotion is extremely important. It definitely is the main drive when trying to progress a story. As for town themes and dungeon themes and what not however I would believe atmosphere and the "Feeling" of the place takes priority. What do you guys think about there being not only "themes" or "song" but sound-scapes?

Either way though we can definitely bring more ambiance into the mix!

Hey there, Renegade here with some questions for the fans! I still have hopes of reworking and making the soundtrack much better by the final release. So I would like to know all of your opinions if you don't mind answering some questions. This is for you! :)

1. What are your thoughts on SU's current score?

2. Do you prefer High Quality formats or midi?

3. What is more important to you, Atmosphere, Emotion, Or Strong melody? (All of them are important but it's good to know where I should put my focus)

4. By the final release would you like the songs to be 100% original?

and...
5. Would you like to see some ambient atmosphere for some areas to have a break from "music/song"?
