You know I haven't asked this really ever except to DHM and a couple others. And it is struck me just now how I don't really know what people think of it. Honest opinions please, like if you like it or not I'd like to know why! :)

So yes the question is, what are your thoughts of the main battle theme?

I suppose it's not really the best one I've heard, partly since it seems a little more subdued than most until near the end, by which point your average battle is over already. It doesn't really seem to go anywhere, for the most part, with the same melody being repeated most of the way through.

However, that is not to say that I find it repulsive; the same mellowness also makes it more agreeable, and I was never unhappy to hear it, as I was with, say, the overblown FF1 remix that you get in Legends of Illarion.

Therefore, I pronounce the theme: mediocre, but not necessarily bad.

I'm hoping that later battles (CBS) will be half as frequent, but twice as long. That should hopefully give the track time to evolve.

I'm sure with SU, too, there's just a lot of battles; listen to any track that many times and it might get repetitive. (It would be interesting to hear different remixes based on which terrain/dungeon you are in, but who knows? :P)

ER if you're interested in a couple years I will be trying to do a full-fledged MP3 album. I should make enough money to actually compensate you for your work by then too. Haha.

Lol, oh and yes that is a very interesting idea for the battle themes. It's making me think of alot actually. :)

You know what would be awesome? If we got access to real orchestras and what not, even if it was just a college orchestra or maybe a high-school orchestra. Maybe that's a far stretch but it would be interesting. Other then that I have alot of samples and soundfonts to accommodate turning everything into mp3s.

When the game is finished of course, we'll know what songs are being used and I will need to get them from you. Just gotta be sure that it's all original by that point. TO avoid infringing on artist's rights and crap like that lol.
