Final Fantasy 6 Diverse cast, interesting character development despite its short, sweet dialogue. Very memorable from my childhood and will likely always be my favorite, as I'm an old man now. lol. 2. Tales of Symphonia This game's presentation is inspiring on so many levels. Not only are there plenty of puzzles and minigames, but the characters were great and the storyline got pretty emotional. Plus 75% of the english dubbing wasn't that bad. 3. Secret of Mana Another one of the great childhood games that I spent hours playing. Quality music is really what shines to me about this game now. 4. Secret of Evermore I applaud this game for being so different. Easily my favorite US RPG, SoE has unbeatable atmosphere/environment. The dialogue was witty and since it was natively in English there was plenty of puns and solid dialogue here. Plus, Jeremy Soule's soundtrack was just flat out astonishing. The only downside? A little weak on the character development side, as there's really only one playable character. 5. Chrono Trigger Travel time. Look like goku from DBZ. What's not to love? yes! |

| laharl Laharl bro! Points: 256 Fame: +10 Joined: 8/30/08 | 1.Final Fantasy IX and Kingdom Hearts 2 __________________These Games are amazing to me the whole adventure and the cast of characters in both of 'em are amazing, kingdom hearts brings back childhood heroes like Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck,While Final Fantasy IX has my favourite type of cast, diverse in personality and in battle aswell as my favourite type of protagonist athletic and with a tail(could have used more tail action though) Kingdom Hearts also has hands down the best action RPG battle system I have played, while Final Fantasy IX had the type I like slow and cool so I could just sit back and relax while playing. 2.Persona 3 fes Has my favourite Battle System in any RPG ever and I love the Sim aspects of it as developing social links is a whole lot of fun.The story gets amazing towards the end and the ending is my favourite in any video game ever especially the part where Main Character fights one on one with Nyx as your party members are cheering you on right before he gives his life to seal it within himself it was also cool for the fact that it said the final boss was unbeatable and he sure as hell was unbeatable. Great Cast aswell whats not to love. 3.Persona 4 I didn't like changes in the battle system like your party members taking mortal blows for you I reckon it would have been better if the only did that when an enemy uses an instant death attack on the main character. The story while interesting isn't as dark or as good as Persona 3's but I loved the whole Detective element in it.I played this game 60 hours and never even had thought about quitting it.The characters in this one are better then in part 3 though, but overall I like 3 better. 4.Final Fantasy X Excellent Battle System,Above average Story, tons of cutscenes just how I like them. The game starts extremely good (BWITZBAWL! FOR TEH WIN!) but then gets boring for like a whole 4 hours then picks up after that.A amazing game if your patient enough to get through the not so good bits. 5.Dragonball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 My favourite Fighting game of all time,Huge cast of characters(even if they're not that different) I'd say you'd absolutely love this game if your a DBZ fan otherwise it will be pretty average for you. 6.Dragonball Z Legacy Of Goku 2 and Buu's Fury Another if your a fan of action rpg's and DBZ.It matches the anime word for word on some parts.Great game for DBZ fans and still good if your not a fan. 7.Final Fantasy Tactics War of The Lions The Story is 60% of what I like about this game as it is the best in any TB strategy game ever the other 40% would be the job system and the Battles. Characters are extremely unique for a RPG and the PSP port has excellent cell shaded cutscenes. 8.Metal Gear Solid I have only played part one but it was amazing.I love the characters(except Otacon)and story aswell as the gameplay. And it got me into stealth games. 9.Dragon Quest V:Hand of the Heavenly Bride Classic RPG with a great story.Collecting Monsters is freaking addictive and the character designs are some of toriyama's best work. 10.Demi Kids Light and Dark(Darks better IMHO but why do SMT (shin megami tensei) fans hate these games so much) Can't remember much about these games because I played them so long ago but its somewhat like pokemon, but good(thats right I hate pokemon IM EVIL!) If your counting rm2k games aswell I'd put the way as 4 and Starless Umbra as 5. May I also know whats so good about Tales of Symphonia I've only gotten 2 hours in,but its boring as hell, though maybe thats just because I can't stand Tales games at all! Sorry for Long post! "Everyday is great at your junes!" Persona 4 can't get that friggin line outta my head Favorite Game:Final Fantasy IX MAYBE IM A LION! |

Ahhhh, nostalgia __________________2. Super Smash Brothers: Melee- I've played the game competitively for 5 years and played casually for 2 years before that. When played competitively, it's very skill based which I really like. Actually though, the only game I can think of that requires more skill is... 3. Starcraft- Really intense game. I suck, but it's still fun to watch and play. Man, watching pros play the game is just crazy. 300+ actions per minute on average and multitasking to the max! 4. Tales of Symphonia- I liked ToS more for the story and character development. It's got some pretty good plot twists in it as well. 5. Ocarina of Time- Despite playing the game for the first time several years after it came out, this one's still made it to my favorites list. I'm a fan of the entire zelda series, but OoT stands out as the best zelda game to me. 6. Tetris- I first played when I was 7 and started to play again around 2 years ago. At one point, I was actually hardcore addicted to it and would play for 3 hours a day on average trying to surpass one of my friends lol. I never did, but I'm still ridiculously good at the game now and it can be pretty fun when competing against others. 7. Homeworld- A 3D outer space strategy game where you control a variety of spacecraft and have to accomplish tasks (and commonly defeat an enemy). I really like the game because of the interesting additions that 3 dimensions add to a strategy game. Hyperspace jumps, the ability to capture unique enemy ships, and a bunch of other things made the game really enjoyable too. 8. Ironsword 2: Wizards and Warriors- A pretty challenging game which I grew up on as well. Not the best game physics or story, but it was fun because it was hard to beat. 9. Monster Party- Hella weird game but it was pretty fun. Also nostalgic 10. Rollercoaster Tycoon - I spent soooooo much time playing it when I was younger. Ahhhh, what an addicting game. It was great though. 11. Battletoads- F***ing hard. Pure evil. Not really a favorite game of mine haha. If you don't use an emulator and saves states, you're not gonna make it past level 3. Even with saves states I barely beat it lol. Yeah though, I respect games as hard as Battletoads all the same. |

Megaman 11. Starless Umbra lol It's not in any specfic order, I have a ton more favorites though that also deserve to be in this list. I mean I couldn't even fit every type of game I like in a top ten, so it was pretty hard to get some titles in there. And I also included starless umbra because this game is amazing. :) |

World of Warcraft - __________________It introduced me to the online community, and I have to say it's the best introduction. Amazing graphics, perfect level of difficulty, and it follows all MMORPG guidelines. 2.) Sim City 4 - I just like big cities. 3.) Final Fantasy XII - The biggest thing for me in FFXII, was the sounds that they had set up. It was breath taking, and while playing it, the gameplay wasn't desirable, nor was the storyline now that I think about it, but damn they had some good music to compensate for what it didn't have. 4.) Need For Speed: Most Wanted - For its time, the game was new and inventive, with an open world, police chases, speed breaker, you name it, this game had it. The only thing that I didn't like about it, was that the peoples' acting during the cut scenes' were plastic at best. 5.) Golden Sun (The first one) - Puzzle filled, lots of easter eggs, unique game engine (i.e. Djinn, classes, element resist/strength), and its all handheld. Though~ this game isn't as high as I'd like it to be on the list, because it has a similar problem that NFS Most Wanted has. The characters are lifeless (I'm looking at you Garet, during the cut scene where you decided to follow Isaac all over the continent >_>). 6.) Ragnarok Online - Also helped introduce me into the online community~mainly private servers. What I really liked about Ragnarok, was the way the combat system was set up, and how complex it was (6 stats, 10 elements, 10 races, 3 monster sizes, all of which determine how much damage you do.). So it was really interesting to see what you could create with a character. 7.) Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 - See Sim City 4s' reason, and replace "cities" with "amusement parks" 8.) Final Fantasy VI - I grew up around this game, so of course I think its awesome. What I didn't like about it, was Kefka~ and anybody whos played Final Fantasy VI knows what I'm talking about. For those of you who don't, his character is plastic, and is a very flat, 2-dimensional character. He's only there to be the bad guy, but he doesn't do a very good job of doing it. 9.) Guitar Hero III - Addicting once you get past the frustration of medium difficulty, and you can start to play on Expert. 10.) Earthbound/Mother - Another game I grew up around. The main plot wasn't anything special, however everything on the side was. There were no identical towns, nor were there 2 identical places in the game~no identical characters (Xept for Pokey and his brother), etc. |
